Chris is the owner and founder of Wildlife Monitoring. He has a background in both biology and IT, as well as retail management, and a long-standing passion for photography.
Robert is Sales Manager with Wildlife Monitoring. He has a passion for customer service and has formerly run his own businesses including in manufacturing and in designing and building electronic circuits.
Wildlife Monitoring was founded in 2009 supplying the Scout Guard SG-550 series of cameras (three models). This was a revolutionary camera, reducing camera bulk and weight by over 50% compared to other models on the market at that time.
By 2010 business had grown rapidly, with Wildlife Monitoring becoming preferred supplier for government Parks departments in Victoria and many commercial and other government customers coming on board. In response to the demand, our staff grew to the present team of two people and stock began being warehoused on-shore in Australia so that we could fulfil orders with a faster turn-around time and so that we could offer faster old-for-new-replacement warranty support.
Through 2011 and onwards Wildlife Monitoring has been invited to present camera demonstrations to local council and other forums around Australia. We have also attended trade shows and university forums displaying a variety of camera models and features and answering questions for conference attendees.
By working with our customers in this way we we've built a wealth of knowledge around everything from the legalities of using trail cameras to secure convictions in criminal court to ecological survey design and camera usage considerations for species with unique detection requirements from arboreal mammals to the smallest of skinks.
By this stage we are supplying 6 different brands of camera - many different models, as well as all available accessories. We also introduce the home-branded Wildlife Monitoring BT-2A camera which is a budget price camera designed to bring this growing technology to educational groups and budding backyard scientists.
By 2012 and onwards, we continue to ship stock to an increasing number of overseas customers. We've had cameras monitoring elephants at African waterholes, wild cats in Saudi Arabian deserts and the chicks of burrowing parrots in New Zealand.
In 2014 we began offering a camera hire service as our product range continued to increase.
As we work through 2016 our customer base continues to grow, our positive client testimonials continue to come in and we continue to watch the market for the best trail camera products available, bringing them to you at affordable prices with a wealth of knowledge to help you acheive your goals whatever your project - whether for fauna monitoring or security purposes.
